What began as a hands-on commitment to training, support, and community has grown into a mission-driven nonprofit focused on restoring confidence, stability, and independence.

About the Founders

Trevor & Eileen

Trevor, originally from Newton, Massachusetts, brings years of hands-on dog training experience and a calm, intuitive approach that dogs naturally trust. Eileen, a Gloucester, Virginia native and registered nurse for 15 years, has always been motivated by caring for others. Together, their compassion, complementary strengths, and shared passion for helping others laid the foundation for T1SDF.

Our Dogs & Program

Dogs have always been at the heart of Trevor and Eileen’s lives and the mission of T1SDF. The first seven dogs in the program were generously donated by Trevor, providing the foundation with a strong start as it began serving veterans. Since then, many of the dogs that enter the program have come from local rescues and community partnerships.

Community involvement is a core part of who we are. We believe that exceptional service dogs can come from a variety of backgrounds, and we are proud to work with local rescue organizations and supporters who help make our mission possible.

Family & Life at Home

At home, Trevor and Eileen’s life is full, lively, and always centered around dogs. Their pack includes Storm, Buddy, and Hank. With five children between them, their home is a blend of chaos, laughter, and unconditional love.

Building Lasting Partnerships

T1SDF reflects that same family spirit but with a larger mission. Every dog in our program is trained with intention and care, with the goal of becoming a reliable service dog and lifelong partner for a veteran.
